What is Yoga?
Yoga is an invitation to live a simple and mindful life. It invites us to heal personal and collective wounds. It encourages us to slow down and to create healthy habits for our whole being.
It employs different modalities like yoga poses, breathing exercises, relaxation methods, meditation techniques, as well as mindful eating, speech, and action. In time, yoga offers us clairvoyance, vitality, and compassion.
Yoga's pioneers have discribed yoga as a method or a path to follow. Its etymological roots evoke the concepts of union and mastery. In other words, yoga is an art or a discipline that accompanies us daily, and from which flows a self mastery and a sense of unity. They explain that the goal of yoga is reached when our senses are soothed, when our minds are calm and clear, and when our actions are moderate and harmonious.
The art of yoga leads us toward our most authentic selves, toward what is pure, free and peaceful inside us. The one that lives in yoga gains more and more of an understanding of what is immutable and eternal. They are engaged in fair and compassionate action.

Dominique's Yoga Story

Teaching yoga has filled my heart with a profound sense of happiness since 2012. Since then I have accumulated over 1,000 hours of accredited yoga teacher training. I teach my classes with love and attentive care. I believe in personalized classes and in a trusting relationship between teacher and student. Since I started teaching yoga, I have had the opportunity to work with healthy people, pregnant women, kids, the elderly, those with mental illness and also other yoga teachers in training.
I was initiated into yoga and meditation at the age of thirteen, but I committed myself to it four years later, truly falling in love with this ancient practice. It was a difficult time in my life and yoga became a refuge for me, and it remains one to this day. Yoga offered me the key to health and serenity.
During my second trip to India, the daughter of my late teacher, Swami Shyam, gave me the name Darshika, which means the one who shows the light of the Self or shows the path to the Self. It was a great honour to receive this name, as it connects me to the nature of my dharma or path of life, which is to accompany others on the yogic journey.
